Daryl makes his home in Saskatchewan but guides both waterfowl and fishing clients in Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, and Ontario. During the spring and summer, he and his partner Emily manage and guide at Slippery Winds lodge near Ft. Francis, Ontario. In the fall he guides for waterfowl in Alberta than later moves over to manage a hunting lodge in Saskatchewan. During the winter months he fishes Lake Diefenbaker from his home near Saskatchewan Landing. There are few people more knowledgeable about the reservoir and the many trophy species that swim in this massive body of water.

Lake Diefenbaker offers ice anglers early opportunities to target trophy fish! Fishing early ice can be extremely rewarding and exciting, it presents anglers with a great opportunity to catch trophy fish to start off the ice fishing season. The key is find early safe ice. Always remember basic ice safety when targeting early ice opportunities on any body of water. 4” of clear solid ice or more is required for safe walking on ice fishing conditions.
