Kevin Stobbe has been in the magazine business for over 20 years, designing local, national and international publications before working on Hooked magazine at its inception in 2008. He took over the magazine in 2010 and in 2014 restructured the company to strengthen the editorial direction by hiring Don Lamont as editor. Don has been active in dragging Kevin out from behind the computer and onto the water and ice, onto float planes and into the wilderness in search of great fishing and exciting adventures to share with you, and to help focus the magazine's direction for the future.

In 2019, in celebration of their 90th anniversary in business, Len Thompson Lures installed the world’s largest lure just up the road from the factory in Lacombe, Alberta. The monument measures in at 40 feet 5.25 inches, nearly 25 feet longer than the previous world record. To break the dimensions down even further, the spoon itself is 27.5 feet long and 9.5 feet wide. Len Thompson Lures started the Fishing for Food Banks Lure Sale in 2020 and raised over $24,000 that year by donating 50% of the profits to 29 Canadian community food banks. They are continuing the program this year. They generously donated $500 to Hooked Magazine’s local Food Bank of choice, and we matched their donation making it $1000.
