ALBERTA FISHING REPORT – WES DAVID, Fishing the Wild West TV

Central and southern Alberta have experienced a very mild October and the first two weeks of November. While the hunters are in the fields hoping for cooler weather and even a little snow to get the deer moving, Alberta anglers are hoping the mild weather conditions will continue.
For anglers, this time of the year is often referred to as the Fall Feeding Frenzy. Right now, beneath the surface, fish are extremely aggressive, getting ready for the tougher living conditions that lie ahead.
On the southern Alberta reservoirs, all the boat docks have been removed, but the anglers who are getting on the water are experiencing incredible fishing. Walleye are hitting almost anything you present to them. Northern pike are stacked up in shallow water, 10 to 14 feet deep, and I hear trout anglers are also having non-stop action on a variety of trout waterbodies.

If you have already put your boat away for the winter, get a flat-tube or kayak. This time of the year also provides some of the best shoreline angling of the year. Walleye and northern pike, are often in the same areas, cruising the shorelines looking to feed. Shorelines with rock and gravel are producing the best results for shoreline anglers.
Do whatever you have to do to take advantage of the Fall Feeding Frenzy.
